Polo Red Gallery - Fine Art

Nadine was born in Cairns. Living on a sail boat for 2 years is her most memorable childhood experience. Her mother’s painting and craftwork remain an inspiration. Not really fitting in with school art requirements (“all I wanted to do was go crazy and just paint”) she remains mostly self-taught.

Following naval service on a warship in the Iraq war, Nadine found painting was her way of dealing with the emotions wartime caused. She is also inspired by the colours and dynamics of Van Gogh.

Her paintings are almost all abstract in oil or acrylic, although she spices them with air-dry clay, glitter, impasto gel and crackle medium.

She plans to pursue portrait painting as an expansion of her oeuvre.
