The Gallery not only has an exhibition space, but it also is co-located with the working studio of artist Ian Lindsay Pfeffer.
As such it has work spaces that allow other services to be offered:
- Framing. With a full framing workshop, Ian can frame and conserve works on paper, canvas, memorabilia, needlework, certificates and other precious items.
- Giclée printing for high quality prints from digital media and photography. Size is A3+, meaning a printable area 320mm by 1, 2, 3 metres (you name it).
- Custom canvasses for artists. Canvasses can be constructed up to 2m x 5m in either canvas or linen. Ian was an engineer and so builds strong, but light stretcher frames with solid joints. He hand applies triple gesso sealant to make excellent grounds for oil and acrylic paints.
- Lessons: Ian is currently running lessons in beginning to paint with oils. Groups are always small with low cost (how is $20 per 2 hr session!). Younger people welcome. These occur on Wednesdays to Saturdays 11am-1pm at the Gallery.
- Seminars. Ian can be approached to run his seminar “Making art last”, which starts with the materials used by the artist and ends with ways to conserve the finished artwork for art lovers. This is highly informative and interactive. Ever thought why we can still see 450 year old drawings by Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci, but some of our artworks are starting to yellow after just a few years?
