The Official Opening function for the Polo Red Gallery was a well attended event with many local residents and artists in attendance.
The Gallery itself was “launched” by Diana Klima declaring it open as she smashed a small champagne bottle on the walls of the Gallery.
Gallery Director and artist, Ian Pfeffer, spoke about the Gallery and his vision for it as a focal point for visual arts in Cooma. It is Cooma’s third gallery and together with the Raglan and Little Galleries, increases the critical mass of exhibiting spaces in Cooma.
Ian also announced his Polo Red Photographic Prize to be held in August 2010. Further information on this amateur competition can be found on this website.
The Official Opening Exhibition showcases the array of talent already in the region, as well as highlighting the size of works it can handle, and the broad variety of styles that the Gallery will support.
